Yarn Dyeing Coil Basket Weaving: 2-day Workshop
Dive in a little deeper with your practice or come try something new!
Najee H.F. + Kenya Miles will lead you in a 2-day workshop/journey to make your own indigo dyed yarn coil basket. Over the course of 2 (two) 4 (four) hour days participants will dye yarn provided by BLJ in two of our indigo vats to create contrasting light and darker shades of blue. We will wash and dry skeins over night. The following day participants will learn to wind skeins into a ball and hand coil baskets to take home. This is a unique experience to apply and/or to learn a variety of techniques.
Dates: Saturday, April 13 + Sunday, April 14
Time: 10am - 2pm Saturday + Sunday
Duration: 4 hours per day, 8 hours total

Materials Provided by BLJ:
• indigo vat for dyeing yarn
• 100g wool yarn total (2 skeins)
• rope for basket coiling
• snacks, tea, water
