These six images document the inaugural blueprint edition of Time, Space & Blues, chronicling an eight-month planting process with the annual plant Japanese indigo ( Polygonum tinctorium).
From planting seeds to harvesting, the journey unfolds in Rosa’s small backyard in Brooklyn, NY. The cyanotype process was employed to capture and archive each stage of the planting process. These set of 6 cards are the printed version of this journey.

About the Artist:
Rosa Sung Ji Chang 장성지 is a Korean-born visual artist, natural indigo dyer, and storyteller based in New York and Baltimore. A graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art and the School of Visual Arts, New York, Rosa has had work exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Paula Cooper Gallery, among many others. This is her debut picture book.
